Instructor. Approved by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth; Bureau of Construction Codes as an instructor for the International Building Code and International Fire Code.

Consultant/Instructor – Under contract to Code Solutions, Inc. and The DiCristina Group, Inc., providing course development and instructional services for CEU program courses for code enforcement officers, Architects and the Burglar & Fire Alarm Industry. Additionally involved in providing permit expediting and plan review services; code compliance analysis and solution development; and construction site health & safety plan development, audits and training.

Instructor/Course Developer - Rutgers University, Center for Local Government Services, Develops and instructs NJ Uniform Construction Code, fire code & housing code continuing education credit and mandatory Code Update seminars for Fire Marshals, Fire Subcode Officials/Inspectors, Building Subcode Officials/Inspectors, Plumbing Subcode Officials/Inspectors, Electrical Subcode Officials/Inspectors and Housing Subcode Officials/Inspectors.

 

04/2008 – 05/2010

Instructor/Course Developer – Under contract to the International Code Council, providing course development services for implementation of the New York City adoption of the International Series of Model Codes. Target audiences include Architects designing projects within NYC; NYC Building Department staff; and FDNY staff responsible for application of the Building and/or Fire Codes. Topics include, “Mixed Occupancies”, “Means or Egress”, “Architectural Applications for Designers”, and “NYC Building Code Fundamentals”.

Instructor/Course Developer – Middlesex County College adult education as an instructor for the Housing Inspector Licensing Course; developed the Housing Official/Inspector CEU program courses; restructured and editorially updated the Housing Official and Housing Inspector Licensing Courses. Coordinated and assisted in the redevelopment, coordination and instruction of the Fire Protection Inspector ICS & HHS NJ Uniform Construction Code licensing courses.

 

1/1992 to 6/2007

Deputy OEM Coordinator/Acting OEM Coordinator – For the South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management responsible for Emergency Operations Center Operations, Township Emergency Operations Plan Development and Maintenance, Hazardous Material Response and Mitigation, Fire and Rescue services and Industrial Mutual Aid. Also served as EOC Commander and Incident Commander as necessary.

 

8/1984 to 9/2005

Fire Marshal - Commanded the Fire Safety Division for the South Brunswick Code Enforcement Department which includes functioning as Chief Administrator of a State recognized Fire Safety Bureau that performed a full range of duties including: Fire and Life Safety Inspections, Public Safety Education, Emergency Response Training, Fire Investigations and Hazardous Material Response. While in this position also commanded the local Environmental Crime/Arson Unit for eight (8) years during the time the Division was assigned to the Police Department as a Special Operations Division.

Instructor/Course Director - UMDNJ School of Public Health Education, Environmental Occupational Health Sciences Institute, New Brunswick, NJ, on hazardous material, environmental, and health and safety courses including OSHA compliance.

Instructor/Course Developer - Middlesex County Fire Academy, Sayreville, NJ. Developed and instructed the academy’s Fire Prevention Inspector and Fire Official certification courses from 8/92 through 12/2000. Instructed numerous courses and/or portions of courses including Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Officer, MVA Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, Rope Rescue, Hazardous Materials also served as Safety Officer for fire department and fire company drill programs.
